CHALLENGE:
In what initially began as a photo and video documentation project, the International Finance Corporation approached me to help capture content at their Africa FY20 Retreat. In addition to documenting the event, the IFC also had an emerging challenge of identifying new tactics to engage their employees.
STRATEGY:
The first step was successfully documenting the event. Afterwards, I worked with their Comms team to develop a newsletter concept IFC used to recap the event and draw awareness to the initiatives and accomplishments of top-performing employees.

After the Africa FY20 Retreat newsletter was received so well internally, we shifted our attention towards creating a quarterly publication concept with an aim to continue driving increased engagement internally between employees from different teams and boost morale.
RESULTS:
The Africa FY20 Retreat newsletter worked performed even better than expected, leading to a 150% increase in engagement compared to all post-event recaps that year.
This led to the creation of the CSE Informal Recognition Award newsletter which now goes out to IFC employees quarterly. The newsletter has seen a 90% increase in engagement rate in comparison to other internal quarterly publications.
